Labradorite was discovered in Canada in 1780, on the Labrador Peninsula, and is known for its play of colours that shift from grey to shades of green and blue when held in the light in different ways.

The ancient inhabitants of Canada (Inuit) wore the stones as bracelets for protection against negative influences; legend has it that an Inuit struck the stone, and thus the Northern Lights were created.

Labradorite is still worn today for its protective effect against external influences and to strengthen intuition.

Physically, Labradorite supports digestion and fluid balance.

Blue Labradorite acts on the pituitary gland, thereby having a beneficial effect on hormone balance and helping with related complaints, such as menstrual, prostate, and menopausal issues.
